Before The remodel

This is the den as it is now.
The den is 20 x 12

The Front of the Den.
I am intending to build a rack to hold the Dish box, Blu-ray, Theater/Switch box on the left hand side of the fire/tv place. The right side of the fire/tv place will have a dvd rack built. I'm thinking of painting the brick (or not - depending on the colors we choose for the room). I'm also building a dual door for the fireplace opening, so we can store things in the non used fireplace (I sealed it up along time ago).

The Back of the Den
The doo doo brown panel has to go, and maybe I'll refurbish the old wooden door that goes to the laundry room, or maybe I'll be lazy and just purchase a now door.

The Left side of the Den
As you can see you can't see a damn thing (sunlight sucks). I'm just going to redo the moldings and most likely install plantation blinds.

The Right side of the Den
Nothing new will really go on over here. Just paint and redo moldings.

The Ceiling of the den
Depending on the colors we choose the fan will be replaced. The biggest thing for the ceiling will be the paint. I intend to paint the ceiling a color other than white.

The Floor of the Den
I'm replacing the carpet and I'm doing half carpet in the tv viewing area, and half wood or linoleum in the family pc area.

Well that's it, that's how everything is now. What you can't see is the speaker, cable, phone, & ethernet lines that are ran under the carpet to various equipment. All the lines are going to be hid in plain sight with Wire Molds, because I hate not having easy access. My plans also include crown molding and installing a few more power outlets, a new sofa, and a larger plazma tv (42 now going to 50). Total estimated cost excluding a new sofa and tv will be between $1000 to $1500. Its only that high because I'm thinking of replacing the old paneling with light colored real pine, without the pine the cost is only around $900.

Any suggestions are welcome, colors, idea's ect...

Coming Soon

Coming Soon, the remodeling of the den. I'm going to gut it and redo every damn thing. This should be fun.
